We are very excited for the 2018 Spring Season to start! Everyone has been added to their team’s page on the website. If you do not see an invitation, please check your junk/spam folder.
Start Date – The season will start on Sunday, April 15. We originally planned to start this Sunday (4/8), but due to the snow and rain the fields will need another week to dry out. Since Easter was early this year (4/1) we had an extra week built into the Spring schedule and do not plan on making up this week.
Playoffs & Championships – Sunday, June 10. If we experience another postponement during the season, we will make it up and push the playoffs and championships back to Sunday, June 17.
Pre-K Division – 11am – 12pm
K-1st Division – Practice 9:00am to 9:30am, Game at 9:30am
2nd-3rd Division – Practice 10:30am to 11:00am, Games at 11:00am and 12:00pm
4th-5th Division – Practice 1:00pm to 1:30pm, Games at 1:30pm and 2:30pm
6th-8th Division – Practice 3:30pm to 4:00pm, Games at 4:00pm and 5:00pm
The weekly game schedule will be uploaded to the website by next week.
Jersey pick-up night is not mandatory but it’s a fundraiser for the LFFL and we’d love to see you whether you plan on dining in or just coming to get your child’s jersey! If you are not able to pick up your child’s jersey, it will be available for pick up at the fields on Sunday, April 15.
Last Spring the line was out the door at Buffalo Wild Wings 15-minutes before the scheduled start, so we have added another night and location, and we have split the grades up. We would like everyone to stick to their grade’s night, but if you have multiple kids playing in different divisions or you are unavailable the night of your child’s scheduled pick up, you may come to either event. All jerseys will be on-site and available each night.
We ask that all payments are finalized before a jersey is picked up. If you have an outstanding balance, you may pay at Jersey night.
- Tuesday, April 10 @ Buffalo Wild Wings (4th-8th Grade), 6-8pm
- Wednesday, April 11 @ Chuck E Cheese (PreK-3rd Grade), 5:30-8pm
All teams will practice 30-minutes before their first game. Please try to be on time as this 30-minute block is very important for the teams to prepare for their games each week.
Some coaches will schedule practice during the week. We have informed the coaches that this is okay, but it cannot be “mandatory” for players to attend and players will not be penalized for missing due to other commitments. We are a Sunday-Only league, however, we have found that a lot of kids enjoy playing more than once per week and we encourage coaches to find a day/time that works best for everyone, if they decide to hold an extra practice.
All players will receive a reversible NFL FLAG jersey, flag belt and mouthpiece. Mouthpieces are required and must be worn at all times. There will be mouthpieces available for purchase at the field each week if a child loses theirs and needs another one.
Pocketless shorts are also required. If your child’s shorts or pants have pockets we will tape them before each game. This is a safety issue and we ask all parents try their best to ensure their child has pocketless shorts.
Cleats are recommended, especially for 2nd grade and up, but they are not mandatory. Not metal cleats allowed.

Leominster Flag Football League
The LFFL recognizes players & teams for the Spring 2017 season through the first Sportsmanship awards. The following are those selections:
Leading into the Championship Day on Sunday, 6/18, referees voted for the Team Sportsmanship awards in each division. Congratulations to all of the coaches & players on the following teams for your exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season:
- K – 1st Division – Panthers
- 2nd – 3rd Division – Panthers
- 4th – 5th Division – Cowboys
- 6th – 8th Division – Cowboys
- Girls Division – Patriots
The criteria for the Michael Austin Coach’s Award includes the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game, coaches, refs and opponents, gives 100% to their team and has integrity in competition. The LFFL would like to recognize & reward the kids who exemplify the values and traits we are trying to teach and instill through our program, which are consistent with what Coach Michael Austin taught during his 30+ years coaching youth sports in Leominster.
On Championship Day, the players selected by their coaches participated in the Inaugural Sportsmanship Bowl (AFC vs. NFC). Those players are as follows:
Congratulations to all the award recipients. We are proud of all their efforts & look forward to future presentations of the Sportsmanship Award.
Registration for the 2017 Fall Season is now open on our website. The registration form is located on our homepage, however; for your convenience the direct registration links can be found at:
Games will be on Saturdays in the Fall & the season will start in September with the Playoffs/Championships in November. Pre-K Division cost is $40.00 and K-8 Division is $70.00 per player. If you have more than one player, receive a $10.00 discount for each additional player.

MATCH YOUR TEAMS COLORS!!!!
We have partnered with Allen’s Uniforms in downtown Leominster for our league apparel. This season we are offering Under Armour F5 Football Gloves for the price of $22.00 per pair. Colors available are Black, White, Royal Blue, Red, Pink, High-Vis Yellow, Steeltown Gold, Orange and Forest Green. Sizes vary by color.
Attached is an order form that you can print to place your order. We will have samples of the gloves on display at each week’s games. These gloves are a hot seller, as they take 2-3 weeks to come in. You can also go into Allen’s and order direct. Please let them know you are ordering as a member of the LFFL!
